Boycott The Bailouts Part 1 – The Banks

I never put much thought into boycotting bailed out companies until late December 2009. I had been doing business with Bank of America (BOA) since I started my business 17 years ago. Around 2001 I invested some money through BOA in some mutual funds they managed. I gave them my money and never really gave it much thought and the funds performed fairly well.
Last fall I noticed something new on my mutual fund statements from BOA. The statements now sported the logo of Merrill Lynch. Merrill Lynch was the company BOA was forced fed by the government at the taxpayers expense as part of their bailout package. Merrill Lynch was part of the sub-prime deritives meltdown and for all intents and purposes was insolvent.
I really did not give it much thought until December 20th of 2009. Merrill Lynch/BOA was kind enough to send me a letter telling that my account had not been active enough for them and that starting January 1, 2010 they were going to charge me $50 fee per account unless I started giving them more of my money to invest (lose is a more appropriate term). As if the 1.75% management fees they take was not enough. Needless to say the I was not happy about this and only had under two weeks to divest and/or move my money including IRA rollovers during the holidays!!!! Add to that BOA jacking up my credit card rate to 29% despite having a stellar payment history and credit rating (BTW - If you make a credit card payment on Saturday and it’s due on the following Sunday – your late – in BOA’s world Saturdays don’t count).
My solution – I now bank locally through a credit union and have moved all of my money out of bailed out institutions.
The only way we can make Socialism fail is to boycott all bailed out institutions with no exceptions. We are a country that is still deeply in trouble – the dollar will collapse in time – be prepared. Buy gold, buy silver, buy local and pray for our childrens future.

I love Dr. Evil because he is so hapless. I dislike President Obama for the same reason. The administration and the party in charge have done everything they can to forward their statist agenda through rampant nationalizations of private companies, all at the taxpayers expense.
I genuinely fear for the long-term prospects of the dollar. We have over a $12 Trillion dollar deficit and it’s projected to be $20 trillion by 2020 and we have over $100 Trillion dollars of unfunded liabilities to look forward too. The stimulus has failed and Obama wants more cowbell – even though Keynesian economics have proven time and again to not work. You cannot spend your way out of a recession.
Buy gold, buy silver, move your money out of the dollar and pray for your children. They will be the ones picking up the tab. I strongly recommend visiting www.silverbearcafe.com. It is a great site and will open your eyes to what we have to look forward to.

The Anti Coexist Bumper Sticker

You see them everywhere – those nice Coexist bumper stickers full of warm hopey changey feelings the country embraced in 2008. Well, it’s now 2010 and during the last year the whole peacenik hope and change thing has turned out to be another big lie and let down. Another lie by another well connected politic insider with no experience, no balls and the incredible ability to bullshit America with a straight face.
We are happy to introduce our new anti-coexist bumper sticker – tell the world how you feel – tell them where they can stick it and let them know that you have serious concerns about the direction we are headed in.
